Men Arrested in São Paulo and Pará, Brazil, on Human Trafficking Charges

On October 17, 2013, Portal ORM reported that two men have been arrested in São Paulo and the Brazilian state of Pará in connection with a string of human trafficking charges.  Police captured José Guedes, 25, of Inhangapi, in the northeast of Pará state.  He was picked up along with a transvestite of whom he is accused of facilitating for prostitution.  The transvestite, identified as “Natasha,” claims that Guedes and Roger Rocha, 44, of São Paulo, promised a life of luxury if “Natasha” would work in their prostitution ring.  Rocha was arrested in São Paulo earlier, in the middle of the night.  Read Article
