Medellin Colombia: truckers in peaceful protest over high fuel prices

The public service carriers have been rejecting the formula that sets the fuel prices and the high prices it announced for Monday 27 August, Prime peaceful parade against fuel hikes. The protest began at 7 am, starting with two sites, one in the north and one Regional Avenue in South Freeway, marches they would reach the Guayaquil Bridge, where leaders of the cargo, passenger , special transport, and some individuals volqueteros will focus on a peaceful protest.

The campaign ‘No more fuel hikes’, was born earlier this year, since the fuel is the highest category of the basket of costs of any form of land transportation in our country, represented by 40 percent, a figure that does not guarantee profitability for carriers, despite the high investments made in equipment procurement.
