Mateus Leme, Brazil: Human Trafficking Gang Disbanded, 36 Victims Rescued

On July 16, 2013 Globo Noticias reported that authorities in Minas Gerais dismantled a human trafficking network operating a painting company in Mateus Leme, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. A complaint was registered by a worker who had been hired in the city of Macapá but, upon arriving at the company, discovered poor housing conditions, little food and wages below what had been promised.
