Mango volumes expected to be lower, Peru

Mango volumes could dip this winter due to delays and lighter volumes from Peru, which typically takes over the deal from Ecuador in January.Ecuadorian volumes should wind up being similar to last year for Pompano Beach, Fla.-based Central American Produce Inc., said Sabine Henry, tropicals manager. Henry reported excellent quality the week of Dec. 19, with kents and ataulfos shipping in large volumes until Peru takes over the deal. About 60% of the kents Central American will ship will be 7s-9s, 40% 10s-14s, Henry said. Read Article
