Lima Peru: health facilities deficient in treatment of tuberculosis

LACKING ADEQUATE TREATMENT IN LIMA FACILITIES FOR TUBERCULOSIS
Expreso.pe reported supervision to 43 health facilities in treatment failures lacking.
Health at risk. The Ombudsman’s report presented the results of the monitoring to the Health Strategy for Prevention and Control of Tuberculosis in the facilities of the Ministry of Health in Lima, Callao and Ica, which showed serious deficiencies, such as shortages of drugs, inadequate infrastructure (lack of lighting, ventilation, privacy, separate rooms and lack of safety and security tools for health personnel). The owner of that entity, Eduardo Vega, said the monitoring was conducted in 43 health facilities between April and May this year. Read Article
