Latin America: World Bank reports 50 percent increase in middle class over last ten years

Latin America and the Caribbean recorded a 50% increase in the number of people who joined the middle class in the last ten years. According to the World Bank report released Tuesday the Colombian middle class grew from 7.1 million in 2003 to 13.6 million in 2009. An increase also corresponds to the rise in the region that had this issue, comprising 152 million people in 2009 compared to 103 million in 2003. Ie an increase of 50%. Read Article
