Honduras: 1.1 million Hondurans earn less then minimum wage

According to business leaders in Honduras, the call centers are the largest employers in 2012. 1.1 million below the minimum

Latest figures from the INE-May 2011 – show that 7.8% are unemployed as a whole , ie 143.783 Hondurans.

The biggest problem of the labor market in the country remains under-employment.

According Felícito Ávila, Minister of Labor, 1.1 million Hondurans have problems of underemployment, ie, having worked 36 hours a week or more had a monthly income below the minimum wage. 333.969 Other people have underemployment because they work less than 36 hours and show a desire to work more.
