Heavy Rains in western and central Mexico, Hurrican Marie hits category 5

lainfo.com reported hurricane Marie took more force on Sunday and reached Category 5 on the Saffir-Simpson scale, while heavy rains continue in several states in the western and central Mexico, an official said. According to a bulletin released by the National Weather Service (NWS) 16H15 Local (21h15 GMT), the storm was about 805 miles south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas (Baja California Sur) and 335 km south-southwest of Socorro Island (Colima).Marie’s maximum winds reach sustained winds of 260 kilometers per hour, gusting to 315 kilometers and displaced towards the west-northwest at 22 kph.
