H1N1 victim dies in Mendoza, Argentina

A 29-year-old woman died today in Mendoza, Argentina of the H1N1 virus, making her the second fatality of the flu this year in the province, according to lavoz.com.ar. The woman was admitted to the Diego Paroissien Hospital in Maipú, Mendoza on June 10th for pneumonia symptoms; she was pregnant at the time. It was later confirmed that she did have H1N1 which led to the loss of her baby on June 29. The woman was never vaccinated for the virus, even though she was a member of the risk group. The first H1N1 death in Mendoza this year, a 77-year-old woman, occurred on June 21.
