Guatemala: Drug lord to be extradited to U.S.

A Guatemalan court on Monday authorized the extradition to the United States of Waldemar Lorenzana, alias ‘The Patriarch’, one of the biggest drug lords in Central America, for their alleged involvement in drug delivery to the North American country and its alleged links with the Sinaloa cartel, as reported by the Guatemalan newspaper “Prensa Libre”. The drug dealer, 72 years old, was arrested in April 2011 while riding in a vehicle by the municipality of El Jicaro, located about 65 kilometers northeast of Guatemala City. Read Article
