Guatemala attempting to get back Mayan book from Newberry Library

Guatemala’s Congress formed a commission to recover the book Mayan Popol Vuh, of great historical value and is in the Newberry Library in Chicago, United States, said Thursday the government deputy Jimmy Ren.

“The Commission is composed of three members of Congress, two delegates from indigenous mayor Quiché (north) and one of the City of Chichicastenango (north), the Ministry of Culture and Foreign Affairs,” Ren said the Guatemalan State Agency News (AGN). Read Article
