Grenades found by authorities in Rio Rico Arizona

According to Nogalesinternational.com a state police bomb squad was called to a home in Rio Rico this month after federal agents discovered six grenades there. On Aug. 17, ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) special agents served a search warrant at a home on Calle Dura as part of an investigation into suspected drug smuggling, said ICE spokeswoman Amber Cargile. At the house, they found approximately 2,400 pounds of marijuana, a Colt .45-caliber pistol, 80 rounds of ammunition and the grenades. As a safety precaution, they called the Department of Public Safety’s explosive disposal unit to handle the grenades and the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office to help evacuate neighbors, should the need arise.
