Google´s president in Brazil arrested for failure to remove videos from YouTube

The federal police in Sao Paulo on Wednesday announced the arrest of the president of Google Brazil, Fabio Jose Silva Coelho, not to remove YouTube videos of the platform to attack a mayoral candidate for the municipal elections in October.

However, “because it is a low-crime offensive potential (…) will not remain in prison,” but will be released after a written undertaking to justice, federal police said in a statement Sao Paulo.

Electoral justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (south) said the head of Google, which owns YouTube, committed a crime of “disobedience” by not removing two videos containing “slander, libel and slander” against a candidate mayor of Campo Grande, Alcides Bernal. Read Article
