Galapagos Islands: Authorities close two beaches to tourism as result of ship accident

Vistazo.com reported…The “Galapaface I” ship ran aground in an area near Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, capital of San Cristobal and the island province of Galápagos. Quito-the Ecuadorian authorities have suspended tourism activities on two beaches in San Cristobal Island, in the Galápagos archipelago, the risk posed by a cargo ship that ran aground there on May 9. The address of the Galapagos National Park (GNP), which manages the reserve marine and land in the region, decided to temporarily suspend access to Punta Carola and Cerro shears, San Cristobal, on the grounds that they are in the area of influence of possible risk.
