Four generals from Mexico detained over connections to drug trafficking

Four generals, a lieutenant colonel and a major Mexican, one Secretary of National Defense until 2008, were imprisoned, charged with crimes related to drug trafficking in the first process that links general and drug cartels since 2000. A federal judge on Tuesday delivered arrest warrants for organized crime and drug crimes against three generals, among them Thomas Dauahare Angeles Deputy Secretary of Defense between 2006 and 2008 – captured from May for ties to Beltran Poster Leyva.
