Foreigners voting in local election, Corrientes Argentina

People of other nationalities living in the territory of the city of Corrientes are voting for the first time in municipal elections which will be renewed nine councilmen. Thanks to an ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of Corrientes were granted this right to foreign nationals living in the capital of Corrientes, making it an unprecedented event for the province. The Foreign Persons Special census included 267 people of different nationalities, many of them originating from neighboring countries, which are first went to the polls to exercise their right enshrined in the Municipal Charter and the Constitution of the Province of Corrientes.
