Esmeraldas Ecuador strong weather alert issued, HEAVY RAINS

Eluniverso.com reported that Emergency Operations Committee was declared permanent session this afternoon. The Governor of Esmeraldas, Paola Cabezas, summoned its members to let them know an alert weather issued at 14:30 this Saturday by the Inamhi, for the province of Esmeraldas.

This alert indicates that: “On the coastal profile of the province of Esmeraldas, there is income of moist air from the tropical Pacific, which is causing rains moderate to strong intensity and continuity of these conditions is expected for the next few hours”.

COE members resolved to declare in permanent session. The Governor said that it seeks to be prepared in case of emergencies that may arise due to the bad weather. “People have to be prepared, it is important to take measures such as cleaning sewers sinks because this is causing us problems,” he said. At today’s meeting were asked to members of the COE not to turn off their cell phones and be ready each entity with its contingent to act on if necessary. Read Article
