El Salvador: gang sentenced to prison for extortion, threatened with explosives

Twenty gang members were sentenced to purge sentences ranging from eight to 20 years in prison, checking his participation in the crime of extortion against a migueleño entrepreneur who would have demanded thousands of dollars for more than two years.

The trial of this group of people was held at the Specialized Court Judgment of San Miguel and concluded on Monday, after a process that began in December 2011.

The judge sentenced Specialist Enrique Beltran minimum penalty of eight years in prison for this offense to 12 of the accused. However, there were 10 other people who were sentenced to 20 years in prison for his direct participation in the commission of the act. Read Article
