Ecuadorians Retiring in Spain

According to ElComercio.com the governments of Spain and Ecuador have signed an agreement that will allow Spanish and Ecuadorian emigrants to choose between which of the two countries to retire. The announcement was made by the president of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS), Ramiro Gonzalez in coordination with the Spanish Ministry of Social Security. Gonzalez says that the agreement will benefit about 600,000 Ecuadorians who are living and working legally in Spain. Officials add that this agreement follows the Iberoamerican Social Security agreement signed by the two countries last week, giving Ecuadorians in Spain access to social security benefits and pensions.Read Article
