Ecuador: Vice President’s father sentenced to 20 years for rape of student

The tenth Court of Penal guarantees of the Ecuadorian province of Guayas, whose capital is Guayaquil, sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment for the crime of rape to Jorge Glas old, father of the Vice President of the Republic Jorge Glas Espinel. The State Prosecutor’s Office reported the conviction in your Twitter account and said that the ruling was given by the President of the Tribunal, judge Manuel Armas. On 2 September the Court convicted Glas old and announced that the penalty would be informed at a later date. The accused was charged in 2012 of rape and having left pregnant to a minor who was a directing educational center. Read Article
