Ecuador, train route from Ibarra to Salinas begins operations

The sound of the bell at the train station in Ibarra attract the gaze of hundreds of people who are gathering in the Obelisk. In this place at 16:00 today, will inaugurate the rehabilitation of the section Ibarra-Salinas with 30 kilometers, after two years of stagnation.

History
The train reached the station in Salinas in 1945, 16 years after the coming into operation the route Quito-Ibarra. An axis of economic development is generated with this new service in the north. The route ‘Freedom’ (Ibarra-Salinas), was in operation for 65 years. Read Article
