Ecuador: Shrimp Exporters Hit Hard on sales to U.S.

US buyers are holding off on orders from Ecuador, waiting to see if the International Trade Commission (ITC) confirms the proposed countervailing duty (CVD) levels, sources told Undercurrent News. Buyers are, for the most part, buying what they need and waiting to see what happens on Sept. 19, when the ITC will vote if they find “injury” to US shrimp sellers that justifies CVDs, sellers in Ecuador and buyers in the US told Undercurrent.
