Ecuador Remembers Failure of coup d”etat Sept 30, 2010

plenglish.com reported Ecuador”s ambassador to Cuba, Edgar Ponce, today highlighted here the role played by the Ecuadorian people in the failure of the coup d”etat perpetrated four years ago against President Rafael Correa.
This attempt was frustrated thanks to the mobilizing will of a people that has taken control of its choices, rights and wealth, the strength of its leader, and the support of several countries in the region, he told Prensa Latina.

He stated that the coup was not forged only against Ecuador, but against the nations that have decided to undertake transformation processes to stop being colonies of the United States.

In addition, he stressed the urgent need to strengthen the integration process of Latin America and the Caribbean, to make the region a new power of honor, dignity and anti-imperialism. Read Article
