Ecuador: Petroecuador awards Brazil contract to build oil pipeline Pascuales-Cuenca

euroinvestor.com reported that Ecuador’s state-run company Petroecuador has awarded Brazil’s Construtora Norberto Odebrecht a $370 million contract to build a multipurpose oil pipeline in the Andean country. Petroecuador said Tuesday in a press release that the contract for the 46,500-barrel-a-day Pascuales-Cuenca pipeline was signed Oct. 17. According to the schedule, the project, which includes terminal storage and a distribution network, should be ready by Sept. 2015. The new pipeline will run 210 kilometers (about 130 miles) to ensure supply to the Azuay, Canar, Loja, Morona Santiago, Zamora Chinchipe, El Oro, Guayas and Bolivar provinces in the south of the country.
