Ecuador: New Work Law Announced

telesurtv.net reported The initiative will open the door to social security for stay-at-home mothers. The Ecuadorian government has announced a new work law which it will send to the National Assembly to be discussed. Details of the new law proposal were revealed late on Friday by Labor Relations Minister Carlos Marx Carrasco. The new legislation seeks to universalize social security, allowing stay-at-home mothers to access these systems. The new law would install a National Labor Counsel and sectoral commissions which will be in charge of debating and defining the minimum and maximum wages regarding higher management. Read Article
