Ecuador: National Wage Council meets on increasing minimum wage for 2014

The National wages Council today held a meeting to define the unified Basic salary increase. This meeting presented a series of data such as inflation, productivity, etc., such as a diagnosis of the situation in the country. The collegiate body, which meets at the Ministry of Labor Affairs, is composed of a representative of the workers, one of the employers and other Government, serving as President of the body. Yesterday no part of any sector proposals were submitted. However, all argued that they are analyzing a consensus approach, without having to resort to that the Government define the increase. For December is expected to make two meetings where proposals and, finally, the annual percentage increase is set for 2014. Read Article
