Ecuador: Military conducted 48 operations along northern border with Colombia in 2012

The No.1 Operational Command of the Armed Forces presented in a report, the results of military operations and security support of the State made in 2012 in the country. During that year, on the northern edge of the country there were 48 military operations and more than 15 000 shares to support the safety of the state as anti-crime patrols, gun control and checkpoints on roads. According to official data, in operating three people were arrested for carrying weapons without documents, 11 for drug trafficking, 21 illegal immigrants, 41 fuel trafficking and seized 28 cars.
