Ecuador, Mexican telephone scam seen in Ecuador

El Universo reported that Elias Manuel Alvarado filed a complaint yesterday in the prosecutors office attached to the Guayas Judicial Police that he received an attempted scam or extortion by phone that originated in Mexico.

Alvarado stated that a suspected immigration agent migration from that Mexico called him and submitted that his nephew Guillermo Alvarado was arrested in Jalisco.

According to the complaint, the migration police allegedly asked him to make two money transfers 500 and 600 dollars on behalf of Manuel Gonzalez Adrian Garcia Alvarado to help him.
