Owen Newland, 29, was wanted by Eastlake police for pandering obscenity involving a minor and tampering with evidence, the U.S. Marshals said in a news release Wednesday.

Investigators discovered a week after warrants were issued that Newland fled the country.

The U.S. Diplomatic Security Service assisted police and helped them determine that Newland flew to El Salvador before traveling on to Ecuador, the release says.

Newland was arrested in Guayaquil, Ecuador on Feb. 11. He was deported from Ecuador to the United States Wednesday, where he was placed into Marshals custody in Miami. Read Article
