Ecuador investigating disappearance of 64 Ecuadorians migrating illegally to U.S.

Ecuador is investigating the whereabouts of 64 people who disappeared several months ago to emigrate illegally to the United States through Mexico, said Thursday the National Secretariat for Migrants (Senami).”There are data from 19 individuals in the province of Canar, and 45 more from the Azuay, who are known to meet a trip to the United States as undocumented months ago. His family did not know his whereabouts,” the ministry said in a statement. He added that the Attorney General will take DNA samples from relatives of the disappeared to “make comparisons with human remains that could be found on the border between Mexico and the United States.” Read Article
