Ecuador: Government Officials Resign, politial gap intensifies

.hispantv.com / The political gap in the Government of Ecuador intensifies: two presidential advisers and the Secretary of Political Management resigned their positions.

Ricardo Patiño and Virgilio Hernández, together with Secretary Paola Pabón, all members of the ruling Alianza País (AP) party, announced on Friday that their stance as militants forced them to step down in the government of Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno.

“We want to dedicate our forces to strengthen our movement, the Country Alliance movement,” Pabón said during a statement to the press in the city of Guayaquil.

Officials argued that they decided the measure to defend themselves against a generalization accusing the entire government of former President Rafael Correa (2007-2017) of having been involved in acts of corruption . Read Article
