Ecuador: forty luxury vehicles seized for trying to avoid import taxes

Eluniverso.com reported forty luxury vehicles that entered the country exempt from tax under the Plan have been apprehended in return so far this year by the National Customs Service of Ecuador (Senae).

The cars were captured when detecting that were held by a person who does not belong to the migrant family who benefited from the exemption and in other cases because there was a transfer of ownership without having canceled customs duties.

By mid-year, the valuation of cars stopped by the Senae already exceeded $ 700 000. Some of these goods are in legal proceedings, before they go to an auction. Read Article
