Ecuador: Fire Units on alert, five forest fires between Sunday-Monday Azuay, Canar

Five forest fires between Sunday and Monday in the provinces of Azuay and Canar put on alert the Fire Department of Cuenca.

The two largest fires that have occurred have been in Ricaurte (Cuenca) and Adobepamba (Delek). In each consumed over 100 acres of forests and grasslands.

In the last two, which adds a St. Marion sector of El Vergel, on the southern outskirts of the historic center of Cuenca, the fire is controlled at times in certain sectors, but the wind keeps total control. Read Article
