Ecuador: Expat couple from U.S. seriously injured when house collapses during earthquake

Cara Chapman/ pressrepublican reported On April 16, Ticonderoga natives Alan Corliss and Cathy Cooper Corliss were trying to file their 2015 taxes online from their home in Canoa, Ecuador. Their daughter Kyrstin, 26, was inside as well.

“My brother said as soon as the earth started shaking, they didn’t have a second to get out,” Patricia Corliss Eames of Woodstock, Vt., told the Press-Republican Saturday. “He said, ‘P.J., just as soon as it started, it just collapsed. We had no chance.’
