Ecuador confirms loan of 575 million usd from China for construction of hydroelectric project

Ecuador signed a loan for about $ 571 million with China Eximbank to finance part of the construction of a hydroelectric key to the Andean nation, increasing the million-dollar debt it has with the Asian giant.

The loan will complement the investment of 672.1 million dollars that the project costs Blower, located between the provinces of Azuay and Morona Santiago, which will provide 487.8 megawatts (MW) to the interconnected system of the country, said the Ministry of Industries Strategic late on Monday.
