Ecuador: Army units destroy 100,000 poppy plants

Ejercitodelecuador.mil.ec reported in the canton Salcedo, a group of military personnel from the Special Forces Brigade # 9 “HOMELAND” located and destroyed about 100,000 poppy plants. At the ceremony attended Mr. Augusto Cayancela, the parish sheriff Cuzubamba; plantations were found in San Isidro and sectors Mulalillo. Presumably, this would be addressed as a crop plants were found to have been cut and treated for regrowth. The discovery was made thanks to the work of military intelligence and participated in the destruction of poppy over 200 members of the Special Forces Group No. 27 “GRAL. MIGUEL ITURRALDE”.
