Ecuador admits occasional presence of the FARC in its territory

The border is Colombia with Ecuador and Venezuela are the two main strategic rear areas of the Colombian guerrilla groups operating in this country. The Ecuador Defense Minister Javier Ponce, admitted today in the central Colombian town of Villa de Leyva’s presence “occasional” from FARC rebels in Ecuadorian territory. “We have always recognized an intermittent presence of the FARC, they come to rest, to supply, there have always understood that, so we are constantly operating in the border,” he said.
