Ecuador: Abuse, pregnancies increased in childhood and adolescence last two decades

Minors who are abused increased from 40 to 42% in the last 21 years and there is almost double of teenage mothers 15 years ago. Meanwhile, mortality rates, child labor and improved access to education for this sector of the population, the report “State of the rights of children and adolescents in Ecuador 1990-2011”. According to the study, presented Tuesday by the Observatory on the Rights of Children and Adolescents, two decades ago to 30 per 1 000 children died before their fifth birthday compared to 12 in 1000 than today.
