Ecuador: 46,000 phone lines suspended for malicious use of 911 emergency calls

ElUniverso.com reported that in April alone the Telecommunications suspended 46,323 phone lines, nationwide, from which calls were made “malicious” to ECU 911 emergency system.

According to data provided by the entity, in the first four months of this year have received more than 3’070 .000 false emergency call, which means 67.11% of total communications established in this period by the National Centers ECU 911 Quito and Guayaquil, and Azuay Zonal Centres, Machala and Ambato.
