Ecuador, 240 new police officers added to Quito´s forces

Elexpreso.com.ec reported since yesterday, Quito has 240 new police officers responsible for ensuring the safety of the capital. They will be assigned to the Community Policing Unit (UPC).

The presentation ceremony was held yesterday at 10:30 on the Cross of Papa La Carolina Park, north of Quito. The event was attended City Mayor Augusto Barrera, Interior Minister Jose Serrano and the District Police Commander, Juan Carlos Rueda, among other authorities.

Serrano noted that so far this year 780 soldiers joined preventive security tasks in the Metropolitan District of Quito. Read Article
