Dutch drug-trafficker intercepted in Panama

Jan Cornelis Hendril Hovenkamp of the Netherlands was arrested May 30, 2012 in Chiriquí, Panama, close to the border with Costa Rica, for trafficking marijuana. He was wanted by Dutch authorities for bringing marijuana into the Netherlands, El Informador reports. Hendril was taken into custody in a shopping center, where the National Police served him with a detention order that ultimately requested his extradition to the Netherlands. It is uncertain how long he had been in Panama; however, in 1994 he brought 3,515 kilos of marijuana to the Netherlands and another unspecified amount in 1992. Read Article
