Duran Ecuador: 20 bags of explosives seized in home along with dynamite sticks, fireworks

lahora.com.ec reported that the national police, through its units of intelligence and the intervention group and rescue (GIR) with the collaboration of the Judicial Police, seized yesterday in the canton Duran a large amount of explosives, 20 sacks of gunpowder and arrested three suspects. The RAID was carried out in a house in the sector ‘Finca La Delia’, where the gunpowder was found. The place is also seized a scale and several articles that were used to make firecrackers.The Prosecutor of flagrante delicto Luis Villalta said the operation was carried out thanks to allegations that did the inhabitants of the mentioned sector. “Is somewhat surprising view the amount of powder that had housing, and even within the dorms, where we hypothesize the existence of children,” said Villalta.

In the place were also seized 100 tacos, 27 boxes of slow Wick (5,500 meters), plastic boxes with explosive capsules, powder flasks, Fireworks and 12 dozens of rockets.

Members of the national police and the armed forces will begin from next week the campaign of prevention and awareness of uses of explosives, in order to avoid mishaps with regard to end-of-year festivities. (JCL)
