Drug route from Puerto Rico to the United States intercepted in Dominican Republic

Sigfrido Altagracia Guerrero Arias was arrested in the Americas International Airport in the Dominican Republic, where he was intending to board a JetBlue plane to New York with cocaine capsules in his stomach. The suspect had been linked to a Puerto Rican drug network that would transport to the United States, Diario Libre reports. The network used hotel rooms in Palmar de Ocoa as a recruitment center. Acting upon this information, police subsequently arrested José David Colón of Puerto Rico after a raid on the hotel. 68,800 U.S. dollars, ammunition, bullet-proof vests, radios, and vehicles were among the items seized during the raid.
