My second day in Ecuador, in Cuenca last night walking across the bridge to Sofy Restaurant on Benigno Malo my iPhone was snatched out of my hands by two teenagers (?) who ran down the hill, turned around and laughed at me! Not a good introduction to Cuenca unfortunately. I went to two different police stations today, the 911 station who then directed me to the ‘official’ station which was supposed to be open 24 hrs a day but as we arrived at 5PM the gates were drawn across and no one was willing to help me. I’m not impressed! Source – Facebook group for expats
