Cuenca Ecuador: Museums now Open on Sundays

elmercurio.com.ec reported the old cathedral, Todosantos heritage complex, the Inter-American Center of crafts and arts Populares (CIDAP), in addition to the museums of the hat and the Aboriginal cultures yesterday attended the public.

Most of these venues do not give service Sunday, but this time did so since they are part of the “Meet your destiny” campaign promoted by the Municipal Tourism Foundation for basin. This initiative also involves students from the school of tourism of the University del Azuay (UDA) and the Faculty of Sciences of the hospitality of the University of Cuenca.

The municipal institution offered the service of free guidance for visitors who came to these establishments, which remained open from 10:00 until 16:00. This was the fourth route of this project which aims to offer alternatives to the tourists. The third included a visit to the sector of the Ford to learn the traditional crafts of this city.
The cost of the entrance to the Museum of the Aboriginal cultures and complex heritage Todosantos was a dollar, which serves to finance the maintenance of these facilities.

Todosantos Patrimonial complex restoration finished in February this year and was fulfilled in about six years. This building caught fire causing serious damage to its structure. Read Article
