Costa Rica: Authorities receive at least 80 phone calls daily regarding phone scams

Insidecostarica.com report: The text messages offer trips, cash and even the latest new vehicles. According to the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE), these types of frauds increase as we approach the holiday season. According to ICE, most of the messages are sent from correctional facilities, while others come from countries such as Ecuador and Guatemala. Authorities remind the public that one should never have to part with their own money to claim a legitimate prize. ICE says it receives at least 80 such fraud reports every day. Read Article
