Colombian authorities rescue foreigner in kidnap ransom case

ElTiempo.com reported that a foreigner, Richard Anthony Mambre, 68, was rescued Tuesday afternoon after eleven days in custody. DAS and CTI carried out the rescue the man who was staying in Santa Marta for three months after coming from Curacao. The victim was able to phone emergency without being detected by his captors. The call was traced to Guachaca. Three local residents were arrested in the kidnap/ransom attempt.

Authorities traced the call to establish the place where he was and came to a farm located in rural Guachaca, district of Santa Marta. There was one of the kidnappers, who said that the alien was a few miles from the place guarded by two of his accomplices.

In the operation were arrested three persons identified as Manuel Antonio Gaviria Arrieta, Jaime Enrique Vergara Muñoz Osorio and Luis Manuel Miranda, all from the village green waters, municipality of Cienaga de Oro (Córdoba), who were made ​​available to the prosecution. Read Article
