Colombia to Participate in “Green Goal” in FIFA U-20

•During the FIFA U-20 World cup, soon to begin, Colombia will participate in the environmental program “Green Goal” which will consist of calculating and compensating for the carbon footprint that the tournament will leave.
•Cartorce6.com reports that this will be accomplished by planting 35,000 trees and will help raise awareness of the environment to all those involved in the event.
•South Africa participated in Green Goal in the World Cup in 2010.
•The Colombian government, FIFA, and WWF* are working together to accomplish this program.
•The trees planted will help achieve the goal of the Colombian government to replant 90,000 hectares by 2014. Read Article
