Cancún, Mexico: Municipal Citizen Participation Committee Formed to Fight Human Trafficking

On July 24, 2013 Diario La Verdad Noticias reported that the Municipal Citizen Participation Committee was formed this Wednesday to assist other organizations in the fight against human trafficking in Cancún. Currently, the Prosecutor’s Office Child Advocacy Division has only one trafficking case, while last year it reported four cases. However, it is estimated that the number of unreported cases is much higher and that it is urgent to create a joint effort between various organizations to combat the problem. Read Article
