Brazilian Companion of Glenn Greenwald Detained at London Airport

Globo reported on August 19, 2013 that Brazilian man David Miranda was arrested on anti-terrorist laws on Sunday (18) by Scotland Yard officers at the Hearthrow Airport in London after being interrogated by officials for 9 hours. Miranda was attempting to return back to Rio de Janeiro as he is the companion of Glenn Greenwald; the American journalist responsible for leaking espionage by the NSA. Greenwald threatened to reveal more documents about espionage if Miranda felt intimated by the interrogation. The Brazilian government has called the act “unjustifiable” and expects no further repeats with other Brazilian citizens. Read Article
